Arthur

marble side table

Some pieces are furniture. Arthur is a reference point — the still object in a room that everything else orients around. Carved from a single block of marble, its form is disarmingly simple: a generous slab top on a tapered pedestal base, the stone's veining running continuously from surface to floor.

The Monolithic Form

Cut from One Stone

The Arthur begins as a single block. No joints, no seams — only the natural interruptions of the marble's own geology. What reads as restrained design is, in practice, an act of precision: the pedestal and top conceived as a continuous form, the veining selected to run uninterrupted from the flat table surface down through the column to the base.

Proportion as Philosophy

Side tables are often afterthoughts. Arthur refuses that position. Its proportions — the generous slab, the slender column, the weight of the base — are calibrated to feel inevitable, as if no other configuration were possible for this stone. In a room, it holds attention without seeking it.

Veining & Surface

Every Arthur is unique by nature. The block selected determines its character entirely. Calacatta Oro offers warm golden movement; Statuario reads cooler, with bold grey veining that feels almost structural; Nero Marquina renders the form as something closer to sculpture. All finishes — polished or honed — are available on request.

You have questions? Contact us

Yes. The Arthur is carved from a single marble block — no seams, adhesives, or composite construction. This means the veining runs continuously from the top surface down through the pedestal to the base, something only possible through monolithic carving. Each piece is unique, dictated entirely by the block chosen.

Yes. The Arthur can be produced in custom heights and surface dimensions to suit your project. Our standard height is 60 cm, but we regularly work with architects and designers to produce pieces calibrated to specific seating arrangements, bed heights, or spatial proportions. Custom enquiries are welcome through our contact form.

A polished finish reveals the full depth of the marble's colour and veining, with a high-gloss reflective surface. A honed finish is matte — it softens the tones and gives the stone a more tactile, almost raw quality. For the Arthur, many clients prefer honed for its warmth and practicality; polished for its visual drama. Both are equally durable when properly sealed.

Every Arthur is delivered by our specialist handling team using padded cradles and mechanical assistance where required. Our team manages placement, final positioning, and levelling on site. We work worldwide through a network of certified white-glove partners, and coordinate directly with your contractor or site manager where applicable.
